Our progress

In rural Masaka, children younger than six years old are unable to attend school. This is because both public and private schools in that region are located quite a distance away, which means that children of that age are unable to go to school. On the other hand, this is not the main reason why children are skipping school. We are aware of other challenges that are preventing young children in this community from advancing.
The most significant factor that contributes to the community's struggles with issues such as illiteracy, poor hygiene, and malnutrition is poverty. Because most of the adults in that town make a living from agriculture and farming, they do not have any concept of how a child who is six years old or younger should attend school.
This is how Wellborn Child Initiative started. It has started one of the bestecdschoolrwanda and it's cheaper than the majority in the region.
